Sassy Politics
Sassy Politics is a weekly political commentary show thatâs feminist AF, independent, and unapologetically sassy.
Hosted by Christi Chanelle, this podcast breaks down the news with sharp wit, sarcasm, and a side of are-you-kidding-me energy. No corporate talking points. No both-sides nonsense. Just real talk about the issues that matter.
From book bans and culture wars to reproductive justice, economic inequality, grassroots movements, and clown behavior in CongressâChristi covers it all through the lens of people over profit, equality over ego, and facts over fearmongering.
This is the show for people who are tired of performative politics and polished punditry. Itâs for folks who care about justice, value truth, and want to understand the headlines without the BS.
Sassy Politics is smart, sarcastic, and rooted in real people, real impactâbecause someone had to say it.
New episodes every week.

This is terrifying, but I'm doing it anyway. I would rather binge watch Outlander, which I love, and avoid the news entirely, but here I am stepping into something that absolutely terrifies me, because staying silent isn't an option anymore. If you've ever felt paralyzed by fear, overwhelmed by the thought of speaking up, or unsure of what activism even looks like for someone like you, this episode is for you. I'm Christy Chanel, and this is Sassy Politics. I need to be honest. I am not the girl who's comfortable calling senators or showing up to city hall with a megaphone. I'm not fearless, I'm not polished, I am deeply introverted and I get anxious over a phone call, let alone confronting someone in power, confronting someone in power. But the world we're living in right now, it's pushing us to find courage in ways we never thought we needed to, and for me, that starts with writing, baby steps, a first email, and I'm doing it, terrified or not, and I hope you'll do it with me. This is the year of doing things for the first time my first protest, my first viral video, my first time really stepping into this voice. I didn't even know I had, and actually it's not my first viral video, but it's my biggest video to date and now, my first time writing to my elected officials. I don't know what will come of it, but I do know that the only way through fear is through it. And if you're like me and feel paralyzed at the idea of doing it wrong, here's the truth. The only wrong thing is staying silent. Remember that. I know you might be listening in your car right now thinking Christy, you have officially lost your damn mind. I am not calling my senator and I get it Truly. I used to think who am I to speak up? I'm not a lawyer, not a political expert. I am just a working woman trying to raise a family and hold it all together. But I realized that is who activism really means Regular people, imperfect people, introverts. Introverts, women who are tired, scared, unsure and still showing up, because if we don't speak up, others will speak for us. So here's what we're going to do. We're going to write an email together. I'm giving you a sample script at the end of this episode. I'm linking to my Dallas County reps in the show notes, and if you live somewhere else, there is a national tool in the show notes as well, and if you need help, email me. I will send you the template. Personally, you're not alone in this. We're learning together, one step, one email, one act of bravery at a time.
Speaker 1:Fear is valid, but fear can't be the only thing that makes our choices for us. Most people, statistically, don't get involved in politics because they feel too small to really even matter, too introverted, too confused. But you know what? And there are more of us than there are of them, and it's time we get loud. Cue Jennifer Lopez. All right, I can't afford that, but if I could, it would be right there.
Speaker 1:I'm not scared to send an email, because I don't know how I send emails every day at work. I'm scared because this one might get me flagged or thrown on some government list or worse. But guess what? My digital footprint is already the size of Texas. So screw it, I'm sending it anyway. And next time, next time we tackle the dreaded phone call. Yes, I said it, this is terrifying, but I'm doing it anyway, because this is our year of firsts and silence. Silence isn't an option anymore. The links are in the show notes, the email template is in there too, and my inbox Open. You ready, let's write it, let's rise, let's fucking go. Love you, miss you, bye.
